Surgical repair for deformities of the nail unit

Abstract: Nail unit is an important structure for both aesthetic and functional capability of the finger and toe, where any anatomic defect or lesion would lead to the nail deformity. Surgical repair is the main method for the treatment of such deformity. According to the classification of its etiology and anatomy, we can choose appropriate operating method to repair. This paper systematically summarizes the classification of the nail deformity and the corresponding nail repair technique.
