Abstract:

【Abstract】 We are reporting a 43-year-old male with Multiple leiomyoma on his face. He had suffered from maculopapules on his right face and forehead for more than 20 years, with pains in winter seasons. The symptoms had become severer for last 4 years. It was observed from the clinical manifestations that papules had the size of from soybean to millet. These papules and nodules protruding from the facial surface were distributed around his right cheek and right forehead, colored from pink to red, with a characteristic of aggregations, solid texture, slight infiltration at their basements. The ice lab test showed positive although the patient historically had no other systematically illness. The histological examination on skin lesions indicated that the epidermis was basically normal, there existed tumor cells in the forms of irregular aggregations or interlacing bundles within the dermis. These cells were slender, and were of the characteristic of eosinophilic cytoplasm. Both ends of nucleus showed obtusely circular or cigar-like shape. The immunohistochemistry illustrated strongly positive feature for smooth muscle: Desmin and SMA(+). Combined with clinical diagnosis, it was thus concluded that the patient’s suffering from the multiple facial leiomyoma. Since the patient’s skin damage has extended to a larger area, a surgical excision was not an ideal option and the follow-up visits were proposed.
