Abstract:

Abstract：Objective To report a case of eczematous cutaneous reactions to vitamin K1 injection. Methods The clinical data and labratory examination of this patient were evaluated. And a literature review of cutaneous reactions associated with intramuscular or subcutaneous use of vitamin K1 was presented. Results A 10-year-old girl presented with an oval erythema on the right buttock for one month. A week before the appearance of erythema, intramuscular injection of vitamin K1 into her right buttock was given. Physical examination revealed there was an oval erythematous plaque on the right buttock measuring 6×5cm, with a dense array of small blisters in the center of the plaque. The plaque was warm, indurated and infiltrated. A diagnosis of eczematous cutaneous reactions to vitamin K1 injection was made. The lesion basically subsided after 26-day treatment with oral fexofenadine and tacrolimus ointment. Conclusions Eczematous cutaneous reactions to vitamin K1 injection is a rare, characateristic disease. Therefore, an awareness of this disease is important for dermatologists.
