Abstract: The authors made a diagnostic analysis of 136 cases of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The result showed that newly developed cases of SLE were mainly young females of 15-25 years of age.Pemales were over 14 times more than the males.The sensitivity of 1982 ARA revised criteria For the classification of SLE was 98.9 percent. It is 11.95 percent more sensitive than the 1971 ARA criteria. The duration for establishing the diagnosis shortened for more than 4 months (P<0.001). The key of raised sensitivity and specificity of the revised criteria is the inclusion of ANA and anti-dsDNA antibody tests.
