Investigation of the pathogenic fungi in Zunyi and Tongren districts of Guizhou Province

Abstract: Specimen cultures of 1140 cases of mycotic infections collected from Zunyi and Tongren prefectures of Guizhou province were aaalysed.The results demonstrated that 841 cases were positive (78.77)with 20 species and 847 strains of Pathogenic fungi isolated,The commonest agents for tinea capitis are T,Schoenleinii var. Mongolia and M. ferrugineum as the next one. It is noteworthy that in Tongren prefecture T,tonsurans is predominantly responsible for black tinea. Both dermatomycosis and oaychomycosis are infected by T.rubrum most frequently with an incidence of 86.11%.We have found that Trichoderma glaucum Abbott as one of the pathogenic organisms in mycotic keratitis.In addition, Sporotrichum Schenckii were isolated for the first time in both prefectures.
