Abstract: The treatment of herpes zoster with predriisone in 40 cases has been observed.The result indicated that the prednisone presented a marked analgesic action.the course of disease could be shortened,and there was certain}therapeutic effect in the prevention of the postherpetic neuralgia.In the course of treatment,the dissemination,exacerbation,or other harmful effects of herpes were not observed,The authors considered,that the severe types of herpes zoster could be carefully treated with prednisone for a short course and it might still be as relatively effective,safe therapeutic modality if tfie patient had no other severe underlying diseases and contrain-dications for prednisone.
