Abstract: Human dermal fibroblasts from 5 normal adult donors were treated with EHCB, EGF, and EHCB combined with EGF for 7 days respectively. The fibroblast proliferation in each group was determined by counting the cell numbers. Our data indicate that EHCB inhibits the fibroblast proliferation(P<0.01), whereas EGF enhances the fibroblast proliferation (P<0.01).Interestingly, in the group of EHCB plus EGF,fibroblast proliferation was far more slow than that in EGF group. The article also discusses the possible pharmacological mechanism of EHCB and EGF on fibroblast proliferation.
