In Vitro Study of Hair Infections Caused by Candida Albicans

Abstract: We used classical method of hair perforation test and various modified liquid media,experimental infec tions with Candida albicans were performed on human hairs of different age groups in vitro.The findings of scanning electron microscopy showed that the hairs were infected by C.albicans 12 to 20 weeks after inocu lation.The experimental infection was most severe on the modified medium-pig serum rice powder extract liquid medium,and the younger the age of patients the more severe the infection.
