Abstract: One hundred and swventy-two patients with penile lesions attending a dermatology and venereology clinic were evaluated to clarify the variety and proportion of genital dermatological conditions affecting men. The results showed that among all 17 diseases, non-specific balanitis accounted for 22.1%, sexually transmitted diseases (STT) such as condyloma acuminatum, syphilis, and genital herpes, 25.0%, candidal balanitis, 14.5%, fixed drug eruption, 13.4%. A case of squamous cell carcinoma was also found. CauTion should be taken to differentiate various conditions when making diagnosis. Screening for STD and tumor is important and long term follow-up seems wise for patients with lesions of malignant potentiality.
