Clinical Analysis on 341 Cases of Cosmetic Dermatosis

Abstract: In order to study the characteristics of cosmetic dermatosis,unwanted effects of cosmetics in the 341 patients were observed,and some of them were patch tested with suspected cosmetics and antigens modelled after European Standard Series.Most patients were female,age ranged 18 to 45.Of them 268 (78.59%) were contact dermatitis,35 (10.26%) were hyperpigmentation,34 (9.97%) were ache-like lesions.One hundred and forty one kinds of cosmetics were suspected to be responsible for the dermatoses.Of these 141 cosmetics,63.83% belonged to skin care products.Two hundred and fifteen cases were patch tested with suspected cosmetics,among them 61.86% showed a positive result.The results of patch tests with antigens modelled after Europe Standard Series in patients with cosmetic dermatitis showed that the common allergens in cosmetics were fragrance and preservatives.
