Clinical and Laboratory Studies of the Essential Oil from Oplopanax Elatus Nakai Against Fungi

Abstract: Oplopanax elatus Nakai,a medicinal plant,is mainly distributed in Northeast China.In order to make use of abundant resources of Chang Bai Shan,to make researches on natural anti fungal medicinal preparations,we studied the essential oil from Oplopanax elatus Nakai against fungi in vitro,the results showed that there was a marked antimycotic action of the essential oil.The MIC against common pathogenic dermatophytes ranged from 0.0625-0.125% and MFC 0.125-0.25%.1% cream of the essential oil was applied to the patients with dermatomycoses,the rate of effectiveness was 90%.This antifungal agent is purely natural,and shows no stimulation to the skin.
