Primary Cutaneous Mucormycosis Caused by Mucor Hiemalis F.Luteus

Abstract: Objective Wereport a rare ease of primarv cutaneous mucormvcosis, caused by muc hiemalisf.lulens(Linnemann)schipper.Methods (1)VIcrsexamination, of KOH preparation and culof purulent seeretion under the eachar from the face.(2)bionsy frome skin lesion was also, taken for pathologic examinattion, and culture.Results and Conclusion(I)Mieromseopicamination showed characteristic thick, nonseplate right-angled branched hyphae.(2)H.E stain of biopsy specimen reveled granulomatous change and characleristic broad, nonseplate hyphae which was PAS(+).(3)Yellow colonies were observed, on the culurs, of purulent secrelion and biopay specinmen with SDA media at 25℃ for 3 days. but no growth at 37℃.and the fugus was identilied as M. hiemulisf. luteus(linnemunn)Schipper. Treatment, of the patient with sporano(ltraconazole)was successful.
