Itraconazole in China:Review of Five year Experiences

Abstract: Objective To evaluate the best regimens of itraconazole suitable to Chinese.Methods Retrospectively reviewed all relevant reports on Chinese literatures during past 5 years.Results Itraconazole 200 mg·d-1×7d was the best regimen for tinea corporis,tinea cruris and tinea versicolor;whereas,400 mg·d-1×7d was the best for tinea manum or tinea pedis Intermittent pulse therapy with 400 mg·d-1×7d 2 or 3 cycles were the best regimen for onychomycosis Itraconazole was effective for candidiasis and deep fungal infections The safety and compliance was quite well.Conclusion Itraconazole is safe and effective for the Chinese patients.
