Study on Antifungal Action of 22 Effective Components of Chinese Herbs and Application of New Preparations

Abstract: Objective To study antifungal action of 22 effective components of Chinese herbs and develop a new preparation for topical use.Methods Dermatophytes and Candida were cultured in the Sabouraud's media containing different concentrations of effective components of Chinese herbs to determine the MICs of these components.Trichophyton rubrum treated with different effective components was examined by transmission election microscope.Results β-terpine,terpinene-4-ol,curdione,eugenol,geranical,eitral,and cineole were observed to have strong antifungal action(MIC 10~0.009μg/mL).Conclusion The monomers of the above herb cmponents and konjacmanan might be used for the treatment in dermatology.
