Combination of Surgical Debridement in the Treatment of Pyoderma Gangrenosum

Abstract: Objective To get better therapeutic effect, to shorten the course and to reduce the scar formation of pyoderma gangrenosum. Method Using surgical debridement to eliminate localulcer and necrotic tissue based on comprehensive therapeutic measures. Results The cure rate for the group receiving the surgical debridement was 94.3%, and that for non-operation group was 65.7%, the diffe rence between the two groups was very significant, P<0.01. The patients in the opeation group did not leave severe scar formation after healing. The course of the disease became shortened. Conclusion Surgical debridement for pyoderma gangr enosum can accelerate the repairing of the ulcer, alleviate pain and shorten the course of disease.
