Therapeutic Effect of Mizolastine in the Treatment of 6970 Patients with Chronic Urticaria

Abstract: Objective To study the efficacy and safety of mizolastine in the treatment of chronic urticaria.Methods With oral mizolastine,10mg daily,all patients received14days treatment as a course.Results The total effective rate of 49.0% were found in7days,and 85.0% in 14 days after initiation of treatment with mizolastine in 6970 chronic urticaria patients.The improvement of itching and wheals,after 7 days and14days treatment,was significantly higher than before treatment,respectively(P<0.001).It was found that half of the patients improved after1d treatment,and 80% patients improved after 3 days.Adverse reactions were mild,mainly sleepiness(6.8%,similar to placebo)and dizziness(1.4%).Conclusion Mizolastine is an effective and safe drug in treating chronic urticaria.
