Repair of skin defects following resection of temporal tumors with A-T advancement flaps: 32 case reports

Abstract:

Objective Our purpose is introducing the experience and comprehension of application of A-T shaped advanced flap for repairing of temple skin defects. Methods Follow the principles of the skin tumor excision to repairing and use A –T shaped advanced flap for repairing of temple skin defects caused by skin tumor excision. A-shaped sides of the incision line was along crow`s feet wrinkle, and the bottom of T-shaped of the incision line was parallel to hair and ear contour line. We advanced two flap from sides to middle and closed the defect. The incision line was concealed after surgery. Results 32 cases were treated, the maximum of temple skin defects was 2.8cm×4cm, After surgery, all flaps were survived, and their shape is good. Followed up for 2 years, no recurrence. Conclusion By using A-T shaped advanced flap for repairing of temple skin defects after the skin tumor excision, we could get excellent cosmetic and functional result.
