Abstract:

A case of targetoid hemosiderotic hemangioma(THH) was reported. A 15-year-old Chinese boy presented with a purple papule which was 0.8mm×0.6mm in size on the right waist for eight years. The papule was surrounded by narrow pale circle in the middle and ecchymotic ring in the outside like a target. Histopathologically, vascular proliferation was detected in the dermis. The lumens of the vessels were dilated and the walls were thinningz. The lumens were lined by a single layer of hobnail-like endothelial cells with intraluminal papillary projections in some vessels. Fibrin thrombi could be found. There were extravasated erythrocytes and mild lymphocytic infiltration in the dermis. The lesion was removed surgically and no recurrence was found for one month.
