Abstract:

【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gama(PPAR-γ) in lesional and nonlesional skin in psoriasis at mRNA levels, and elucidate its roles in psoriasis vulgaris(PV). Methods The expression of PPAR-γmRNA was detected by RT-PCR in lesional and nonlesional skin in 28 psoriatic patients and 30 normals as control. Results Expressions of mRNA of PPAR-γ were detectable in most skin biopsies. Compared with normal skin and nonlesional skin, PPAR-γ mRNA was significantly decreased in psoriatic lesions (P<0.001). Furthermore, the expressions of PPAR-γ mRNA was decreased in lesional skin from psoriatic patients with active phase comparing with stationary phase (P<0.01). However, there was no significant difference of PPAR-γ mRNA expression between nonlesional skin and normal skin(P>0.05). Conclusion PPAR-γmRNA is lower expressed in psoriastic lesions, and PPAR-γ may plays an important role in occurrence of PV.
