Abstract: Objective: To research on the possible mechanism of naevus fuscoceruleus zygomaticus (NFZ). Methods: The receptors of sexual hormones on the dermal melanocytes were determined by immunohistochemistry staining in skin biopsy paraffin specimens from 10 patients with NFZ and blue nevus, and the serum sexual hormones(FSH ,P,E2 ,T,LH and PRL) of 30 female patients with NFZ and 30 healthy women were examined by radioimmunoassay in the specified period. Results: The estrogen receptor(ER) and progestin receptor (PR) were negative in 10 cases. androgen receptor(AR)was positive in 5 cases. There are no statistical difference in the level of serum sexual hormones between the NFZ patients and the control. Conclusion: This study shows that there may be no relationship between the level of serum sexual hormones and NFZ(p>0.05), But some dermal melanocytes in NFZ have androgen receptor(AR).
