COPPER AND ZINC LEVEL IN HAIR AND SERUM OF PATIENTS WITH WITH VITILIGO

Abstract: In this study flame atomic absorption spectrophotomrdtry was used to determine the quantity of copper and zinc in hair and serum of 63 patients with vitiligo in Chengdu area,and 32 health subjects in the same area as controls.The results showed that patients with vitiligo had significantly lower levels of serum copper,serum zinc,hair copper and hair zinc in comparison with control group.Correlation analysis demonstrated that there were no correlation of copper and zinc concentrations between hair and serum.
