Abstract: Objective To evaluate the effcacy and safety of narrow-band UVB ( NB-UVB) in the treatment of early stage mycosis fungoides(MF〕.Methods Nineteen patients histopathologically diagnosed as early stage MF, including 9 males and 10 females(aged between 20-71 years with an average of 42.63 year),were enrolled into this prospective open clinical study,Of them, 17 were at stage 1, and 2 at stage Ⅱ A. All patients received topical phototherapy with NB-WB twice or thrice a week, and followed up for 1-18 months. Results Among the 19 patients, 13 achieved complete response(CR),5 achieved partial response(PR),and 1 did not respond. The average radiation frequency was 25.9, and mean accumulated radiation dose 25.6 J/cm2. Main side effects were erythema, pruritus and hyperpigmentation, which were all tolerable. Conclusion NB-UVB is effective for tire treatment of early stave MF with fewer side effects.
