Abstract: The human skin blannching assay has been shown to be a reliable method to compare the bioavailability of topical corticosteroid formulations. The study concentrates on the inftuences of different concentrations of menthol on the bioavailability of percutaneaus penetration of triamcinolone acetonide with skin blanching assay in healthy volunteers. The results of the assay indicated that menthol enhanced the bioavailability of percucaneous penetration of triamcinolone acetonide significantly, and showed clear dose-dependent relationship. It is our conclusion that menthol is a perctttaneous penetration enhancer For triameinolone acetonide.
