Association of single nucleotide polymorphism of HCR gene with psoriasis vulgaris in the Uigur population in Xinjiang

Abstract: Objective To investigate the association of HCR gene and pathogenesis of psoriasis vulgaris.Methods The polymorphism at nucleotide 307 in the 4th exon of HCR gene was detected in 118 patients of the Uigur population with psoriasis vulgaris and in 127 normal controls.DNA was extracted from anticoagulated blood,the genotypes were identified by PCR-RFLP and direct gene sequencing.Results A C/T polymorphism,including three genotypes:CC,TT and CT,was identified at nucleotide 307 of the HCR gene.The frequency of TT genotype was significantly higher in the patiens than in the controls (P<0.01).Conclusion The C/T polymorphism at nucleotide 307 of HCR gene is associated with the development of psoriasis vulgaris in the Uigur population in Xinjiang.
