Abstract: The feasibility and effect of treatment with rifampicin (RFP), clofazimine (B663) and dapsone in multibacillary leprosy in Yangzhou District and Dongtai county of Jiangsu Province for three years are reported. There were 591 cases of active multibacillary leprosy in the study in three years, 569 (96.3%) of them being treated with this regimen. The monthly supervising rates of RFP and B663 during each of the 3 years were 96.7%, 94.04% and 93% respectively: Among 303 cases available for three years' analysis of the effect of treatment, 196 cases (64.7%) showed negative skin smears and clinical inactivity.
