Abstract: Lanugoes from four patients with trichostasis spinolosa were studied. Morphologically two types of lanugoes were observed:(1)lanugoes varied in diameter Gut with intact cuticle, and(2) those with their cuticle disappeared or with many fragments of keratinocyte on their surface accompanied by the presence of shallow ditches. The disease is presumably due to malnutrition of the hair papillae resulting in medulla dysplasia and abnormal keratinization of the cortex.
