Abstract: The cardiac manifestation in SLE patients with Raynaud's phenomenon (RP) was studied by 99mTc MIBI myocardial SPELT and so on. At the onset of cold-induced RP, 9 of 10 cases in RP group had reversible myocardial ischemia. At the mean time, only one of the 10 patients in control group had such an ischemia but it was related to the mural valve prolapse. We considered that the reversible myocardial ischemia accompanied with digital RP in patients with RP may be a cardiac RP. To investigate if RP may have a harmful effect on the heart of the patients, the cardiac involvement of 116 SLE patients with and without RP were analysed. As a result, the prevalence of myocarditis in patients with RP was significantly higher than that in patients without RP. It suggests that the cardiac RP may be one of the reasons that causes the disorder.
