Abstract: A retrospective study of 56 cases of BCE from 1981-1986 is reported. Among them 33 were males and 23 were females,the ratio of male to female was 1.43:1. The age of onset ranged from 5 to 83 years old with an average of 53.3, and 45 cases were over 40. Together with the review of literature, the histogenesis, etiology, clinical manifestation and histopathological classification of BCE were discussed. From the histopathological and psychological point of view, we prefer the term BCE to BCC.
