The initial dosage should be large enough to control the lesions promptly. The recommended initial dosage is 30mg/day for mild cases, 40-50mg/day for moderate cases and 60-80mg/day for severe cases. The reduction of dosage could be attempted after 7-10 days when the lesions were satisfactorily controlled. Rapid with drawal will lead to recurrence of the disease.
